After the first Pride or Shame? report Sabine Jansen undertook a follow-up research for COC Netherlands. She examined whether policy and practice regarding the assessment of LGBTI asylum applications have been improved, as this was promised by the State Secretary after the release of the previous report. The disappointing conclusion is that the new work instructions did not lead to an improved practice. The assessment of LGBTI asylum applications still relies on stereotypes.
