We take the safety of our participants very seriously. We have implemented extensive safety measures, including thorough instructions for the guides, coordination with the Canal Pride organizers and local authorities, and the provision of first aid personnel on board. All participants on our boat receive clear instructions via a comprehensive manual, and COC coordinators are appointed to quickly address any incidents on the boat.

We strive to be as inclusive as possible and are always open to feedback from both within and outside the community. We make every effort to maintain close contact with our members, volunteers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure that all voices are heard and that our activities are as representative as possible of the entire LGBTQ+ community. In case of bad weather, we have taken various precautionary measures. Our boat is equipped with emergency supplies such as rain ponchos and coverings to protect the decorations and equipment. Additionally, we have agreements with the Canal Pride organizers to adjust the program if extreme weather conditions occur.

Internally, COC has developed protocols to handle negative reactions (both online and offline) appropriately. A crisis team, comprising Loretta Mulders and Lenny Houwaart, will be on standby throughout the Pride. The crisis team can be reached from 10 AM to 4 PM on the day itself. Moreover, safety teams trained in de-escalation techniques by Pride Amsterdam will be present, and there is close contact with the police to respond swiftly to any incidents.
